I agree it is really easy to get bogged down reading posts about photography and spending a lot of time on Flickr comparing your work to others. It's hard to get to a point where you just take your camera and enjoy what you shoot. I think I'm finally getting to that point... and I'm definitely enjoying shooting more now than I was before. I look forward to checking out the links you shared above. Also, loving the photo. Fantastic texture and color. It's fall!!! :) Excellent post.
