A few months ago, my wife and I found out we were having a baby boy in January
Since I enjoy taking portraits, I wanted to get some of her now, and we’d take more throughout her pregnancy to chronicle the changes she experienced as she moved farther along in her term. It takes her a bit to get warmed up to a camera, but she was a great sport once we got going.
These were taken in the City of Manassas in a gazebo at a small park. All were processed in a mixture of Lightroom 2 and Nikon Capture NX2. A single off-camera flash (Nikon SB-600) was used, camera left on a stand, with only a Sto-fen diffuser on it, using Nikon CLS (TTL) with the camera set on manual. I’ve got a nice new pair of 45″ umbrellas and wireless triggers to do the next batch — some ideas for different poses, lighting situations, and locations as well. The last one was taken in our home with the SB-600 aimed into an umbrella, camera set on TTL.
Hope you like them!
