We had a great Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and even today we have things going on! Hopefully everyone had a great day (and days!) as well It’s been fun to see what people are doing by watching their twitter and facebook feeds. I wanted to share some of the things I gave my sister for Christmas.  First is a family portrait I took of them earlier in the year in a little park here in Manassas.... 

I noticed the other day that Washingtonian put my name and winning photo contest entry up on their website: I had been checking the local store for the magazine but they still had the old one. Finally yesterday I went to Borders and they had the magazines in!  Bought 10 of them for myself and a couple of them for family that don’t live in the area.  Very excited to have my photo in there,... 

Saw this video published at lunch and couldn’t wait to post it! The video turned out great, and Help-Portrait is such a wonderful message. It’s snowing like crazy out there, and here in the Washington DC / Northern Virginia area they are calling for anywhere from 10 to 25 or so inches of snow.  According to the weather this morning, they’re saying it may be more than we got in 1983, when the last big blizzard hit the area.  Photographers all over the region are out taking pictures, or at least will be once the snow settles... 

If you recall any of my previous posts on Help-Portrait, this past Saturday, December 12, was the day we were going to get together with Sudley Manor House in Manassas, Virginia, to take portraits of residents.  It also happened to be their Open House Holiday Party, so many residents were going to have family there — and that proved to be a huge boost to the project!  The smiles were out in...
