It’s snowing like crazy out there, and here in the Washington DC / Northern Virginia area they are calling for anywhere from 10 to 25 or so inches of snow. According to the weather this morning, they’re saying it may be more than we got in 1983, when the last big blizzard hit the area. Photographers all over the region are out taking pictures, or at least will be once the snow settles down.
A couple weeks ago we had some snow, and I made sure to rush out and capture one of my favorite spots again, this time with the white stuff. It hadn’t stopped snowing, but I ran out there anyway, up the hill, and got the shot. If you remember the cannon pic from my Please Vote For Me post, this is the same one. I think it’s pretty powerful! It’s a cannon on Manassas Battlefield Park in Manassas, Virginia.

I also have the two cannons available on a single image here.
The next shot came after the snow had finished, and pretty much melted away. There was some ice remaining on the tree, so I grabbed my Sigma 150 Macro and headed out to get some shots (the rest are here on Flickr) I’m thinking about getting it printed as a canvas for a blank wall we have in the basement. It’s one of my favorite shots of the year!
