Working from home this afternoon, I decided to treat myself to some cookies (well I probably would have done that whether or not I was working or not but that’s beside the point).  Has been a while since I’ve had Pecan Sandies, but they sure were good.  What is your favorite cookie? Every now and then I get in the mood for some black and white photography. Since I’ve been busy with my new son (and busy napping!), I haven’t had as much photo time as I’d like. Yesterday I went to a nearby park in Vienna, VA and took some shots there, then went to the main drag for a bit.  When I got home, I processed them all in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2which makes it super... 

The weather the last couple of days has been miserable!  Very cold, very windy — and did I mention miserable?  Pulled a few of my recent “cold weather” images to share.  One is from around Thanksgiving, when it was cold and rainy.  The rain was hanging off the ends of the branches just right!  It was featured on RedBubble in the Rain Drops & Water Art and Split Tone Black... 

I noticed the other day that Washingtonian put my name and winning photo contest entry up on their website: I had been checking the local store for the magazine but they still had the old one. Finally yesterday I went to Borders and they had the magazines in!  Bought 10 of them for myself and a couple of them for family that don’t live in the area.  Very excited to have my photo in there,... 

It’s that time of year. Stress over presents, traffic, shopping, family issues — not to mention eating poorly. I was doing a bit of each of that when I felt the burn (must’ve been the alfredo pasta at 11am, leftover from the previous week’s holiday party, or maybe all the cookies!). Thanks to many of you, I won the Washingtonian Magazine November Photo Contest that I mentioned in a previous post.  I am very excited about this, and can’t wait to pick up the January 2010 issue where the image will be published.  I thought several of the images would give me a run but seems everyone liked mine.  I’m flattered at the votes, and to think that shot may not have been entered... 

I recently entered the Washingtonian Magazine November Photo Contest and have been selected as a finalist!  The theme is “wide angle”, and one of my favorite lenses is the Tokina 12-24 which is pretty darn wide — and the one used for the finalist image.
